Mala Patil
Concept/Writer
Mala Patil was born with her feet in Mumbai but her heart in America. Her journey was challenging, but they are what helped her to build a strong belief in herself and the spirit needed to survive and thrive.
After graduating from Mumbai University with a degree in engineering, Mala leaped to the United States without the safety net of friends or family. Her stories as a “fresh off the boat” Indian are funny, inspiring, and educational.
Mala continued to satisfy her thirst for knowledge and earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Redlands, which helped bolster her technical knowledge with real-world business flair. Mala has since learned to apply her myriad skills and business sense from her 15+ year engineering career toward new endeavors in the film and television industry.
Mala currently uses her pragmatic business savvy and unique perspective to develop genuine, interesting, and socially relevant projects, like her postpartum thriller, “Adalynn,” and the drama series “The Mumbai Girl.”
