AMRITA SINGH

A rich, materialistic woman like Amrita (48) would give "The Real Housewives" a run for their money. Amrita also has a drinking problem but is not a full-blown alcoholic... yet. She can stop drinking if she wants to, but Amrita craves attention from her husband, Taranjit, so she gets drunk and creates a scene when she feels neglected. Taranjit is a big tycoon, so Amrita gets drunk at socialite events often enough. She is no stranger to headlining page 3 for embarrassing herself.

Amrita always has a perfect posture, the perfect clothes, and perfect makeup; she loves to appear flawless. But Amrita rarely smiles; when she does, it is usually because she is about to say something icy and dramatic!

Amrita's daughter Esha rejects many of the traditional customs of her people due to her mother's beliefs (and behavior), but, in a roundabout way, Amrita's individuality is what inspired Esha to become her own person. Unfortunately, the only thing they seem to bond over is shopping.

TARANJIT SINGH

Taranjit (51) is a polished and shrewd businessman, husband to Amrita, and Esha’s father. Money can control a lot in his world, but not his family's unruly behavior.

Taranjit never meant to ignore his wife, but in the beginning, it was a necessity to cultivate his company. Later, he avoided Amrita because her drama was too much to handle. Now, Taranjit always has to clean up messes made by Amrita's drunken antics -- she is a PR nightmare!

Taranjit still loves his wife, but he wishes she would calm down. At least he still has his loving, albeit rebellious daughter. Taranjit is proud of what she has achieved, and he boasts of her in the office meetings, but he also secretly keeps tabs on what transpires in her professional world as well...
